Louise D. Jakubik, PhD, CRNP, RN-BC

Louise Jakubik is the president, chief learning officer, and founder of Nurse Builders, a nursing consulting firm specializing in pediatric nursing education and practice. Nurse Builders' mission is to build nurses and nursing organizations for success.

Louise is a pediatric nursing expert whose professional life has been dedicated to building and developing nurses in clinical practice and leadership. She is a frequent national speaker on a variety of pediatric nursing topics including pediatric laboratory interpretation, nursing leadership, and innovation in nursing education. Louise has authored numerous publications in the areas of clinical nursing practice and leadership. Her research and practice interest is in the area of mentoring among bedside nurses. Louise believes in the power of each individual nurse to strengthen nursing practice. A reflection of the company's core values, Nurse Builders' slogan is: "Building Nursing Practice, One Nurse at a Time."

Louise is an expert in the CPN Exam and Review Process.  She was among the first group of nurses to create an in-hospital CPN Review Course.  Louise has applied her experience and expertise in working with the CPN Exam and review process to the design and implementation of the CPN Review Course offered by Nurse Builders: "The Pediatric Nursing Certification Review Course: Unlocking the Door to Success". This course has helped hundreds of nurses across the United States to achieve CPN Certification. The Nurse Builders CPN Review Course is designed to meet the needs of pediatric nurses for pediatric nursing content review and test preparation. Additionally, Louise has co-authored the book "Pediatric Nursing Certification Review" which was published by the Society of Pediatric Nurses in October of 2006. This text was specifically designed to prepare pediatric nurses to take a pediatric nursing certification exam.

Louise received her doctorate in nursing education and leadership at Widener University School of Nursing. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where she received her BSN and MSN in the acute and chronic nursing of children combined pediatric nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist graduate program. In addition, Louise is certified as a pediatric nurse practitioner and staff development specialist.

Louise has more than fifteen years of experience as a pediatric nurse working in a variety of roles. These roles include staff nurse, pediatric nurse practitioner, and clinical nurse specialist.
